Tribute to Ticket To Ride
This site contains several homemade unofficial Ticket To Ride-maps.
Last summer I dicovered the efforts made by other Ticket To Ride-fans to create new maps for the game. I desided to give it a try myself and spend several days working in Adobe Photoshop. The results can be seen and downloaded here:
-
AsiaThis map shows most of Asia, Middle East and a small part of Africa. You will need a large table and two sets of the original game.
-
The Iberian PeninsulaThis map includes The Iberian Peninsula (Portugal, Spain, Gibraltar (UK) and Andorra) and some part of Northern Africa (Algeria, Morocco). Is is made by daughter, aged 13.
-
London UndergroundI have always been fascinated of the London Tube Map. The design is originally created in 1931 by Harry Beck and my Ticket To Ride-adaption of the map uses the same colors for the tube-lines as the original.
-
Scandinavia and The BalticsThis map includes Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Suomi Finland) and the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania). A little bit of Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany is also included in the map.
-
DenmarkMy first attempt to make a Ticket To Ride-map: An almost precise replica of the existing railtracks in Denmark. I did however invent some new ferries to make the game more playable. To make my country fit into the map I also have to include the northen part of Germany and the southwest part of Sweden.
In order to play using one of the unofficial maps, you need purchase the original game (either the USA- or the Europe-version). From the box you use the trains, the colored markers for each players and the train cards.
You also need to download and print the map and the destination cards.
Rules
You can play uning the rules from either versions. The rules can be downloaded from the official website:
- Rules for USA-version (English) - PDF (3 MB)
- Rules for Europe-version (English) - PDF (1.8 MB)
Rules in other languages is also avaliable.
Ticket To Ride
The original game is desighed by Alan R. Moon and published by Days of Wonder. The players collect and play matching train cards to claim railway routes connecting cities throughout the map. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Extra points is given if two given destinations is connected.
